Early 19th century Portuguese console table, crafted in chestnut and retaining its original painted finish. The table features two drawers, each opening with two brass ring pulls, and a beautifully carved skirt with similar carved detail continuing along the turned legs.
The painted surface has developed a lovely patina through years of use, with tones of cream, taupe, and burgundy throughout. The top appears to have once had a faux marble painted finish, now showing heavy distress from generations of use. Areas reveal natural wood below, along with gouges, stains, scratches, old repairs, and two visible cracks. Interior drawer bottoms show typical age related separation. Restored strong, stable, and ready to use.
