Late 18th century small Danish Rococo chest of three drawers, crafted in oak. The chest features a graceful curved Rococo front and is raised on cabriolet feet, giving the piece a refined and decorative look in a compact scale. At only 25 inches wide and 22 inches tall, this small chest is especially versatile and was originally used as a cabinet maker’s floor sample, allowing clients to custom order a larger piece to their specifications. At some point, the drawers were lined in green felt, whether for storing silver, jewelry, or other small items, adding further charm and usefulness to the piece. Restored strong, waxed, and ready to use. Please note there is no key and the locks no longer function, so the drawers open using two small brass pulls. Scuffs, scratches, separation at seams/edges and nicks are reflective of age and use.
