Early 19th century Swedish display cabinet, crafted in pine. The cabinet has a newer, layered professional blue painted finish with a softly dappled surface (creates a "seafoam" affect) that is slightly distressed to reveal warm wood below. A Baroque carved crown adds strong decorative presence at the top. The upper section features two doors, each with three glass panes, allowing for wonderful display. The doors open to reveal two removable shelves and a third upper shelf that is notched, originally used to display family silver serving spoons and utensils. Three interior drawers provide additional storage. The lower cabinet has two drawers over two larger drawers, each fitted with a large brass handle to use as a pull. The entire cabinet rests on a scalloped skirt and cabriolet feet, giving it a raised, graceful appearance. Restored strong, stable, and ready to use. Typical age-related cracks are seen along the crown and elsewhere, along with nicks, separation, and signs of wear consistent with age. This beautiful cabinet is ready to be placed and enjoyed.
