Early 19th Century Original Painted Swedish Tall Pine Sideboard

Early 19th century Swedish tall sideboard, crafted in pine and retaining its original painted finish. Fluted carved details accent the two cabinet doors, each centered by a circular carved motif. The original white painted surface has been gently scraped and worn through years of use, creating a warm aged patina. The top was painted in contrasting black, which is also distressed and reveals much of the natural wood below. The interior is more newly painted. Typical age-related separation and cracks are seen in the top and sides, all consistent with the era and long use of the piece. This tall sideboard has been restored, is strong, stable, and ready for use. Additional cracks, nicks, stains and scrapes are reflective of generations of use. The original locks and keys function stiffly and inconsistently, and we recommend using the included three keys as pulls only.
