18th century German display cabinet, crafted in oak with extensive hand carved detail and a dark aged patina. The crown is carved with the date 1743 and the name Heinrich Borles. The open upper section of this buffet is raised on heavily turned columns and includes two shelves for displaying plates, serving ware, or decorative objects.
The lower section has two long cabinet doors decorated with carved arches, columns, and additional architectural details. A decorative diamond motif accents the lower skirt. The interior provides storage with one half shelf. Age related separation is visible within the door panels, interior bottom planks, back panel, and other areas. Typical cracks, stains, scratches, and nicks are present throughout reflecting over 200 years of use but do not impact the function of this stately cabinet.
