Early 19th century Swedish wedding cabinet, crafted in pine and built in two sections. The upper cabinet opens to reveal three shelves, while the lower cabinet has two interior shelves, giving the piece excellent storage throughout. Traditional Swedish styling is seen in the curved bonnet crown, echoed in the carved paneled doors of the upper cabinet. The old painted finish has an overall gray tone with slight blue undertone. The painted surface is distressed throughout, revealing natural wood below from generations of use. The interior is painted in a (newer) contrasting dusky blue. The old locks and key function loosely and inconsistently, and a buyer may choose to use the key as a pull only. Typical age-related cracks are seen throughout, along with nicks, some separation along seams and joints, visible cracks along each side, additional gouges, and old age-related separation of planks along the back; none of which impact function nor visual appeal. Entire cabinet is restored, strong, stable, and ready to use.
