Late 18th Century Danish Baroque Oak Console Table with Black Painted Base

Late 18th century Danish Baroque table, crafted in oak. This console table features a single drawer along the front skirt and rests on heavy carved Baroque legs that give the piece strong old-world presence. The base is painted black and shows much distress to the painted finish, revealing natural wood below and adding to the aged character. The top remains natural wood and shows many scratches, stains, gouges, and heavy signs of old dried wormhole activity, all contributing to the rustic appeal of the piece. Age related separation of the planks is also visible. The natural wood top creates a warm contrast against the black painted base. Please note this table has tremendous rustic old-world appeal and will best suit a buyer who appreciates the raw worn appearance of the top, which also shows slight bowing. Restored, strong, stable, and ready to use.
