19th century Hungarian worktable, crafted in pine. The base retains its original green painted finish, now naturally distressed from generations of use. Metal rods and bolts provide additional support throughout the base and contribute to the sturdy utilitarian character.
The contrasting natural pine top has been waxed and shows age related separation between the planks. Some planks sit slightly higher or lower than others, consistent with the age and construction of the table. Cracks, stains, gouges, nicks, scratches, and other signs of wear are visible throughout the top. The base and painted finish also show distress, nicks, and wear from continued use.
Restored, strong, stable, and ready to use as a console, worktable, serving table, or rustic kitchen island.
