The soft earth tone colors are all original on this hand-painted antique chest of three drawers from Hungary. The lovely top and panels with hand painted floral accents and birds were a traditional folk art design of the era set against a brown and burnished red faux wood finish; the additional blues, yellows, reds and more add a cheerful feel to this chest.
Generations of use are revealed in the distress age-related separation of wood (sides) which will appear as cracks, additional scratches, gouges, nicks, and distress to the painted finish all reflect typical wear for its age. 
This large pine chest of drawers has been restored; a wax finish adds a soft luster to the piece, and the three drawers function with two brass pulls each. Some old stains to interior drawer bottoms. 
All scratches, cracks(see top), dings, and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this large hand painted chest.
