Large 19th century French breakfront bookcase or display cabinet, crafted in pine with a newer professionally applied layered white painted finish. Pale gray undertones are visible throughout and may cause the cabinet to appear light gray in certain lighting. The finish is lightly distressed to reveal areas of natural wood beneath, complementing the age and architectural character of this dramatic piece.

The upper section is accented by four columns and diamond-pattern glass panel doors, creating a stately display area with adjustable sawtooth shelving that allows the shelves to be positioned as desired. One included key operates the upper glass doors.

The lower section has three drawers positioned above four cabinet doors. Simple round medallions accent the lower doors, which open using an included key.The longer central drawer has an unusual drop-down front that opens to reveal four smaller drawers flanking the central storage compartment, with two brass pulls providing access.

Multiple age related cracks, scuffs, stains, and other signs of wear are visible throughout, including along the sides, columns, cabinet doors, and breakfront. These signs of age do not impact the strength or function of the bookcase.

This very large cabinet is constructed in multiple sections, allowing it to be disassembled for transportation and installation. Restored, stable, and ready to use.
