19th century French vitrine crafted in pine with a newer professionally applied layered light gray painted finish. Antique white undertones show through the gently distressed surface, complementing the age of the display cabinet while highlighting its extensive hand carved details.
A carved floral basket at the upper center may indicate that the cabinet was originally created as a wedding piece. Additional carved flowers, wheat motifs, and fluted details decorate the façade, while a scalloped lower skirt and decorative cabriole feet complete the graceful form.
The upper glass doors open to reveal three curved interior shelves. Each shelf has a groove along the back designed for displaying plates or platters. Age related separation is visible along the shelf bottoms, sides, and back, with additional/typical cracks, scratches, nicks, and wear throughout. The feet show further wear consistent with generations of use.
The upper and lower doors sag somewhat due to age related shifts in the cabinet. Keys should be used as pulls only. The cabinet is constructed in three sections, which may assist with transportation and installation. Restored, strong, stable, and ready to use.
