The years of use have deepened the warm patina of the pine, aging gracefully through the years in this Swedish bench. The decorative carving along the back and arms add to its appeal.
Notice the seat lifts (it is not hinged) to reveal storage space for items that need to be discretely tucked away. Old knots and gnarls add character to the wood, while cracks, nicks, scratches and small gouges are also seen especially along bench seat but also throughout. More wear/distress at feet. 
Restored, strong to sit on and stable. The wax finish brings out the warm patina of the aged wood. 
All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation (including interior bottom) are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this lovely Swedish bench.
