Late 18th century Swedish pedestal table, crafted in pine with a highly distressed original painted finish. Years of wear and scraping have revealed layers of blue, green, red, and yellow(around the inner border), creating an overall teal blue appearance with considerable depth and character.
Residual red and green painted trim remains along the scalloped edge of the top. A contrasting black painted pedestal creates a striking silhouette beneath, with a turned central base supported by decorative tri-legs. The colorful, layered surface is a charming example of Swedish country craftsmanship and generations of use.
Old cracks and gouges are visible across the top, some of which were filled at an earlier point in time. Small cracks and minor age related separation are also present. Residual signs of old wormhole activity are visible but are dry and inactive.
Restored, stable, and ready to use.
