19th century French sideboard, crafted in oak and bleached to create a lighter finish that beautifully highlights the extensive hand carved details. Three paneled cabinet doors feature dramatic carving, with additional carved decoration continues along the scalloped lower skirt of this buffet.
Three upper drawers provide additional storage and open with brass pulls. The far left drawer has a divided interior that is well suited for organizing flatware or other smaller items. The lower left and right cabinet doors open with included keys, while the center door is secured from the interior with sliding locks at both the top and bottom.
The interior shelves and drawer bottoms were likely replaced at some point, adding practical function while preserving the antique exterior. Typical age related cracks are visible throughout, including along the top, sides, and paneled doors, with additional separation at some construction seams. A longer crack is visible toward the upper right side, with another crack at the lower right foot. The left side shows age related separation between the planks forming the side panel.
Restored, stable, and ready to use. All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this striking French oak sideboard.
