19th Century Swedish Gustavian Original Blue Gray Painted Pine Bench

19th century Swedish Gustavian bench, crafted in pine with a wonderfully distressed original painted finish. Layers of blue and gray remain visible throughout the scraped and worn surface, creating a soft aged patina that complements the graceful form of the bench.
A spindle back and arms define the upper section, while egg and dart carving accents the side rails, back rail, and front skirt. Turned fluted legs support the bench, with carved floral medallions adding decorative detail throughout. Original finials remain at each of the four corners. Metal elements visible along the sides reflect the decorative construction used to join the corners together.
The seat is upholstered in vintage blue-gray fabric that shows fading and wear from age. It remains usable as is, though a buyer may choose to reupholster it. Typical age related scratches, minor cracks, and other wear are visible throughout, particularly along the ends of the feet.
Restored, stable, and ready to use.
Seat Height: 18"
