19th century Hungarian breakfront cupboard or display cabinet, crafted in pine and constructed in two sections for easier transportation and installation. The upper section has glass paneled doors designed to showcase a collection, with fluted half-columns framing the façade and a decorative beaded pattern accenting the crown.
The surface between the upper and lower cabinets provides useful space for display or serving. Just beneath this top of the lower sideboard section is a distinctive narrow pull-out board that creates additional serving space when needed. Years of use are visible across this surface in the form of cracks, gouges, and nicks.
The lower section has two drawers positioned above two cabinet doors. All doors open with hanging brass pulls and snap into place rather than using locks or keys. Interior shelves are removable, allowing the storage configuration to be adjusted as needed.
Age related separation between planks and cracks are visible along the back, interior bottom, and sides. Typical scratches, scuffs, dings, and wear are present throughout, particularly along the edges. The upper right door fits snugly and may require a steady hand on the left door when opening as age has shifted the doors and fit. Old cracks and areas of broken trim are visible around the panel of the upper right door, none of which affect function.
