Vintage flat-top trunk dated 1926, crafted in pine with dovetail construction and its original cobalt blue hand-painted finish. Two decorative panels along the front feature traditional folk art flowers arranged in vases, with a painted name flanking the floral decoration and the date 1926 centered between them.
Generations of use have heavily distressed the original painted surface, particularly across the top where majority of the blue has worn away to reveal the natural pine beneath. Age related separation between the top planks appears as horizontal cracking, with additional scratches, nicks, stains, cracks, and other wear visible throughout.
The lid opens to reveal a small private storage compartment positioned along the upper left interior. Age related separation is visible between planks along the interior bottom, together with residual signs of old wormhole activity that are dry and inactive. Similar old wormholes and heavier wear are visible around the lower feet and base. The trunk retains its original hinges. There is no lock or key, and the lid must be properly aligned when closing to allow it to sit firmly in place.
Restored, stable, waxed, and ready to use.
