19th century Swedish sideboard, crafted in oak with exceptionally elaborate carving and a stately white marble top with gray veining. The highly decorative carving has dramatic character reminiscent of Black Forest craftsmanship, while the buffet itself is Swedish in origin.
The central cabinet doors are richly carved with a hare, multiple fowl, oak leaves, and additional naturalistic motifs. Curved side doors are decorated with flowers, grapes, and vines, while further carved flourishes continue around the edges and throughout the façade.
The two side cabinets open to reveal two curved interior shelves, while the two central doors open to reveal a single interior shelf. The included key should be used as a pull only.
The white marble top shows staining in several areas, including along the back edge. Scratches and nicks are also visible, with most of the nicks concentrated along the rear edge and a few elsewhere. Additional scratches, nicks, and minor cracking throughout the wood base reflect years of use and do not impact the function or impressive presence of the sideboard.
Restored, stable, and ready to use.
