Late 18th century cabinet, crafted in pine with dovetail joinery and a newer professionally applied layered painted finish. This style is often refered to as a "wedding cabinet" from Sweden. The exterior color shifts depending on lighting and can be described as a washed-out ocher or pale taupe with soft yellow undertones. The interior is painted a contrasting light gray and gently distressed to complement the age of the cabinet. Overall finish is distressed to fit the age and grace of this cabinet.

Two large upper doors open to reveal two shelves, three small interior drawers, and an upper half shelf with a notched edge. This distinctive wrap-around upper shelf was traditionally designed for storing and displaying family silver spoons. The gracefully curved bonnet is characteristic of cabinets often created or presented in connection with weddings.

The lower section has two smaller drawers positioned above two long drawers, providing substantial additional storage. Carved feet and decorative carving along the lower skirt complete the stately Scandinavian form.

Age related separation is visible in the paneled doors, sides, back, and drawer bottoms. Minor cracks, nicks, and additional age related distress are present throughout and are consistent with the considerable age of the cabinet without impacting its function.

The cabinet is constructed in three sections—the crown, central cabinet, and lower drawer base—which may assist with transportation and installation. Restored, stable, and ready to use.
