Flat-top pine trunk dated 1822 with a wonderfully aged original blue painted finish with teal undertones. Two decorative painted panels along the front have yellowed cream backgrounds bordered in red, each centered with what appears to be a lamb surrounded by a floral garland of red flowers and green vines. The date 1822 remains visible within the painted decoration.

Both sides also feature painted square panels, while old burnished red accents highlight the edges and bun feet. The combination of blue, teal, cream, red, and green creates a charming example of traditional European folk art decoration.

The lid opens to reveal a small interior box on the upper left with its own lid for storing smaller personal items. Stains, gouges, and residual signs of old wormhole activity are visible inside but do not impact function.

Years of use are evident across the exterior. The top shows extensive scratches, gouges, cracks, and age related separation between the planks, with additional separation along the right side. Nicks, cracks, and distress are visible throughout, including along the long front edge trim. These signs of wear contribute to the authentic aged character of the original painted surface.

Restored, stable, and ready to use.
