It is the years of constant use revealed in every ding, gouge, stain and scratch that enrich the character of this impressive carpenters' workbench from France. Please examine the close up photos to appreciate the aged patina, joints, cracks, dark stains, old hardware and even old repairs (likely where a vice or other tools were once attched). It has one traditional long vice along the left leg. Unique to this console is the (newer) lower two shelves. The upper serves as a wine rack and lower provides additional storage or display space. In the photo of the top, notice the circular holes that served a purpose for the carpernter who originally used it. This work table has been restored and waxed, it is strong, stable and ready to be used and enjoyed especially as a console.
