The allure of this lovely French chest of drawers comes from the romantic touch of (newer) paint which is a soft gray blended with white creating a beautifully layered finish, and lightly distressed adding a refined grace to the piece. The distress highlights the hand-carved details and reveals the natural oak below. The heavily paneled sides, scalloped skirt and cabriolet feet complete the romantic as well. The unique configuration of 3 drawers over 2 long drawers creates a unique visual appeal as well. Restored, the drawers function (keys are used as a pull on the top 3) but due to age not all close flush to the frame. Expected age-related separation of wood is seen in the top, sides and interior drawer bottoms, but does not impact their strength nor function. Any scratches, nicks, cracks, signs of use are expected in an item of this age. This item is strong, stable and ready for use.
