This work table has one vice with wood handle and a  long, narrow top filled with gouges and tray originally used for tools and wood shavings. 
Unique to this console is the enclosed lower section with cabinet door that opens to reveal inner shelving and even a drawer above it. No keys nor locks.
Workbenches such as this are often used as console or sofa tables today. 
This vintage carpenter's workbench has been restored, cleaned and waxed; it is strong, stable and ready to use.
