This exceptional Gustavian bench is a special find. Note the original pale white painted finish, now scraped down revealing a warm aged patina reflecting the age and grace of this lovely pine bench.
The finials, feet, and decorative carved and fluted details of the back are all original.
This bench was originally designed to serve as a type of spare bed; note the seat is removable vs. hinged.
Opened, you will see the seat has been given a foam cushion with linen cover stapled upon it at some point in more recent years; note the deconstructed look of visible staples throughout the upholstery.
Restored, strong and functional this bench is ready to be used and enjoyed. 
All scratches, cracks, dings, or age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this lovely Swedish Gustavian bench.
