While you can frequently find original painted Swedish trunks, it is difficult to find a cabinet or sideboard with exceptional original folk art paint such as this one.
The two panel doors are painted with a traditional floral motif against a faux wood background. The date of 1791 is seen on the left door. Top and feet were painted brown.
The old lock no longer functions so the right door stays in place with a simple upper latch.
Please take a moment to look at close up photos to appreciate the detailed painting and aged details including the warm patina where the paint has been worn down to the natural pine below, perfectly distressed with age.
Restored, strong and stable, this cabinet is ready to be placed and enjoyed.
