Tall original painted pine chest of five drawers with half column accents dated 1850.
Four larger drawers have two brass pulls; upper narrow drawer has one small pull.
Note the original painted finish, with a brown/brick red faux wood painted background which was the traditional folk art style of the era. The narrow top drawer is embellished with vine and floral detail while the lower skirt reveals names and date of 1850.
Restored and waxed, this chest is solid, stable and ready for use; drawers function. Moves as one unit, no longer separates.
All scratches, cracks, dings, stains and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this large chest of drawers. This wear is seen throughout the chest, in particular note wear, distress, cracks and stains visible along the top and sides.
