Pair, White Swedish Gustavian Armchairs, circa 1840-60

Pair, Swedish Gustavian armchairs with a gently curved tub back and saber back legs, adding to the graceful appeal of each.
Fluted turned front legs and decorative carving embellish the skirt, arms and legs.
The newer, professionally applied white painted finish has been gently distressed fitting the age of these lovely armchairs. There is faint contrasting pale red paint along the skirt and feet, while the back trim has been scraped down to the natural wood below.
Wood frame is restored, strong/stable. Signs of wear including nicks, dings, scratches, separation and worn patina are a reflection of generations of use and do not impact the function nor beauty of this pair.
Simple upholstery on back and seat (to hold in batting) with deconstructed look and feel; stains, staples, tacks/nail heads and stitched seams visible throughout. These chairs are ready to be upholstered at buyers discretion.
Please refer to professional photos for clear understanding of color, condition and details; photo lighting, individual monitor display and home lighting may all impact how item is viewed.
Seat Height: 18.5"
