Original Painted Narrow Cabinet Console with Flowers, Dated 1814

This cabinet is a wonderful representation of early 19th century Swedish craftsmanship, from both the cabinet maker and the painter that created it. The aged patina of the painted finish draws one to it.
Monograms and date of 1814 are seen along the top, indicating it was likely a special wedding or dowry present.
The large single panel door is painted with a becoming floral motif and flanked with similar design in the narrow vertical panels. A traditional faux wood brown painted finish is seen throughout.
Note the original long wrought iron hinges and interior shelving; rests on large bun feet.
While you can frequently still find antique original painted trunks, it is difficult to find a sideboard with exceptional original folk art paint with perfect aged patina such as this one.
Restored, strong and stable this console is ready for use. Waxed finish. Door is secured with wood latch, lock no longer functions.
All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation (see door and back panels, etc.) are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this special sideboard.
