Swedish mora grandfather clocks are identified by their gentle curves and classic style as seen in this lovely longcase clock with carving accenting the face. Note the perfect balance between the curves of the belly over larger curve of the base.
The pale blue painted finish has been gently scraped down to reveal the natural pine wood below.
The original clock required the commissioning of 3 professionals; the carpenter, painter and clock professional who designed the clockworks, face and hands.
Any original clock works remaining will be included with the long case but they are not in working condition. Many clients opt to add a battery function vs restoring the old works; we leave this to the discretion of buyer upon arrival. Only one hand remains with the face (typically hands are replaced when new functions are installed regardless). Glass for pendulum window will be replaced prior to shipping.
The wood longcase is restored, solid and stable.
All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty of this lovely Mora grandfather clock.
