Baroque period stone top table from 18th century, Sweden. This antique kitchen table features the original stone top and single drawer, all resting on heavy turned oak legs and trestle. This table will make an impressive kitchen island or entry console table.
Please examine photos to appreciate the red toned patina and fossils in the striking old stone top. Also of note is the intricate carving along each of the four strong legs.
The 2-3" thick top is level, stable and sits heavily upon the base (it will not move once put in place). The stone underside is raw/uneven which creates a visible gap above the drawer and along parts of the back but does not impact function nor appeal.
All scratches, cracks, nicks, age-related separation of wood, etc. are commensurate with age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this exceptional table which is ready to be used and enjoyed.
