It is the years of constant use revealed in every ding, gouge, deep crack, and scratch that enrich the character of this impressive carpenters' workbench from France.
Unique to this console is the (newer) two shelves with the upper serving as a wine rack; decorative scalloped carving along the front.
The rough hewn top shows heavy wear, with rustic worn surface. In the photo of the top, notice the circular holes that served a purpose for the carpenter who originally used this workbench.
Please examine the close up photos to appreciate the deep patina, joints and old hardware. It has one traditional long vice along the left leg.
This work table has been restored and waxed, it is strong, stable and ready to be used and enjoyed. 
All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this unique console table serving as a wine rack.
