This large antique rococo oak chest of four drawers features a serpentine front, brass hardware pulls and rests on cabriolet feet.
It has been given an exceptional new professional blue layered painted finish with mottled elements of teal, steel blue, gray, white, and black undertones. It has been lightly distressed to fit the age and grace of the dresser. The top has a contrasting antique white painted finish. Please enlarge the close up photos of the layered colors of paint to best understand the color/finish to both body and top.
Two large brass pulls are on each drawer. A key is included for aesthetics but pulls are used to open each drawer. The four drawers do show typical age-related separation of planks on each bottom. The top drawer has been reinforced with a new piece of wood across the bottom (which was in place when we purchased this in Europe).
This large pine chest has been restored, case is sturdy and drawers function.
All cracks (including top), dings, aged separation (along drawer bottoms), old repairs in the back are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this handsome chest of drawers.
