Swedish mora grandfather clocks are noted by their graceful curves and classic style as seen in this exceptional long case clock.
Elaborate carving accents the body and face with sophisticated carved flourishes and garland.
The newer applied, soft dove gray paint is lightly distressed, revealing the age and grace of this lovely clock. Clocks of this age were often painted over many times in the course of several generations of use.
The original clock required the commissioning of 3 professionals; the carpenter, painter and clock professional who designed the clockworks, face and hands.
Any original clock works remaining will be included with the long case but they are not in working condition. We cannot guarantee they can be restored, many clients opt for a battery function to be installed upon arrival.
The wood longcase is restored, solid and stable.
All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this striking grandfather clock. Holes in the back were created when the original family secured the clock to a wall to create stability for the sensitive (original) clockworks.
