This old shop counter from Sweden will serve well as a modern 9' kitchen island.
The top is made from old boxcar flooring (from a train); thick and heavy, it is filled with gouges and stains from years of use in train yards and provides a wonderful contrast to the blue painted apothecary counter base below.
Now sanded to a smooth surface, the imperfections of the top add to the deep character of this one of a kind free standing kitchen island or counter.
Note the overhang on counter side that allows stools to be pulled up/under, with floor to skirt height at 34" high. 
This apothecary has 16 drawers, only the top right drawer has dividers inside (seen in photos). 
Restored, strong and ready to be placed and used.
